Online bus tickets company redBus.in has introduced its website in five local languages -- Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. With this move, redBus claims to have become India’s first travel site to go multi-lingual.Phanindra Sama, CEO, redBus, has said, “Bus travel has a very wide segment of users -- right from agents, distributors to end-consumers. A large segment prefers their local language. Keeping this in mind we decided to add this feature on our site. This makes us India’s first travel site to pull it off.”
Mayank Bidawatka, head of marketing, redBus, has said, “Our site is accessed by many who prefer the local language. Secondly, we noticed many local language blogs and sites that are doing very well. This was a clue that customers prefer this to English.”

"
I think the second and the third screen will play an important role in building brands and consumer loyalty going forward. You watch the first screen (TV) from a distance, look into the second screen (PC) from nearer distance (two feet away) and then you have your third screen (mobile) with you 24 x 7 and very close to you. How effectively you use these third and second screens is the way forward for any brand. "
Thats a nice functionality to have actually. Down south where this bus market flourishes need this kind of user friendliness. Nothing like building emotional connect with your users in the Internet space.
True, India in not China.
English will still have more than 95% in the online segment.
