TimesJobs launches chat-based job search service

03 June, 2009
Job portal TimesJobs.com has launched JobTalk, a chat-based job search service that allows users to search, view and apply for jobs through basic internet chat, such as Google Talk and Yahoo Messenger.

To use the service, one first needs to add Jobtalk@timesjobs.com as a friend in GTalk, or job.talk@yahoo.com in Yahoo Messenger after which the TimesJobs search bot starts acting like an online advisor.

“It has been our constant endeavour to create value and bring innovative product features to the market. We wanted to help our users access TimesJobs from multiple channels,” Gautam Sinha, CTO, Times Business Solutions, the company which owns TimesJobs.com, has said.

“Jobseekers registered on TimesJobs.com can apply to jobs directly from the chat window and JobTalk automatically identifies their profile and sends their job application,” Gautam Sinha has added. According Sinha, JobTalk aims to help those who can’t access job sites from their work place.

I believe there is nothing wrong if Timesjobs provides services which competition provides to its users, it actually shows they don’t want to be left behind.. Moreover, its ONLY Timesjobs who provides chat based service on Yahoo as well. No other job portal has this feature till now.. Many people still use Yahoo as their preferred chat client. It’s definitely a good move..

Dear Shaahil, Naukri.com has also copied the idea of chatbot from somewhere, probably like as said Cleartrip trains search. TJ just copied the idea probably from the same source and get implemented, it has the guts to get it done and implemented, and here i can clearly see, TJ has started the same services on YahooChat as well, which no other Job Provider company is doing as such. So now, if Naukri.com also prepare its gladiators to work on Yahoo Chat bot then probably Naukri is also copying the idea of TJ. sounds good? huh!!! Cheers mate!!

TJ should learn this fact that "In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure." so stop copying and try to take initiative.

Naukri launched Jobs on Chat and TJ has just copied it. The astonishing part about TJ is that it brags about the copy cat acts with no hesitation across all media as if its an innovation they cam up with.
