Shaadi.com, in association with Star Plus’ matrimony reality show Star Vivaah, organized a Swayamwar on 20th June 2009 in Mumbai. According to the companies, the Vadhu-Var Parichay Sammelan witnessed the participation of 40 prospective grooms and brides and gave them an opportunity to get to know each other better.
Gourav Rakshit, business head, Shaadi.com, has said, “We have always believed in marrying tradition to technology and our tie-up with Star Vivaah is reflective of that. It’s wonderful to witness the number of lives touched by this unique initiative and I hope that Shaadi.com and Star Vivaah continue to help people find happiness in the years to come.”
According to Star Plus, Neeraj Parashar, one of the participants of Star Vivaah, recently got married in Bhopal. “We have witnessed the biggest success of the show with the first wedding through the Star Vivaah platform,” Anupam Vasudev, EVP, Star Plus, has said. “We are hoping the Vadhu-Var Parichay Sammelan too will help many eligible boys and girls find their suitable soulmates.”

Well I think it's a nice initiative. pretty thoughtful. The fact that 40 prospective bride and grooms turned up shows that it was well appreciated. Good stuff.
well, that was a nice way to promote the site. Star will definitely get a mileage out of this and yes, some Philanthropic satisfaction.
