Senior Manager/Director, Publisher Development

Company: Komli Media is a startup developing a range of exciting products for digital media. Komli is run by a small team of highly-qualified, dynamic individuals with work experience at companies such as Microsoft, McKinsey and Symantec. Komli’s leadership studied at some top universities including Harvard and IIT, and has raised over US$40 million in venture capital for some of their current and past ventures. Our offices are in New York, Silicon Valley, Mumbai and Pune.
Job Overview: You will be responsible for managing, developing and growing Komli’s publisher relationships. You will not only perform business development and account management for our publishers, but you will also be focused on delighting them by understanding their needs and delivering on them. Internet advertising is a dynamic field – at any moment, tens of thousands of ad impressions are being served by our network. A lot of issues can come up – this position requires on-your-feet thinking and an energetic attitude towards resolving problems quickly. You should be proficient at interpreting numerical data. You will be expected to advise publishers on steps to optimize their ad revenue. Proactive client servicing is at the heart of Komli’s approach. You will be responsible for expanding Komli’s ad network, not just by the number of publishers but also the relationship and level of service we provide to them. In some ways, your role will be that of a counselor, i.e., understanding the publisher’s needs, honestly evaluating if Komli can provide a good solution and then considering the right approach for that client. There are many new ways to help publishers and innovate, and we look to you to deeply understand the publisher market and help us do that. The base criteria for succeeding in this position are that you must be a high-energy and goal driven person.
Salary and Benefits
• Salary commensurate with experience

Desired Skills: • At least a Bachelor’s degree, graduate degree preferred
• Experience dealing with customers and very customer-service oriented attitude is crucial
• Experience of 3-4 years with online advertising, must really know internet business and media pricing models (media sales or agency media buying experience a plus)
• Ideally must have a good network of contacts, specifically publishers, in the Indian internet industry
• Experience doing business development and developing deals with senior level executives, as well as smaller companies
• Tenacity to work with publishers who have many things on their mind
• Attention to detail
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with data interpretation
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Experience working in a team
