Monster acquires Yahoo HotJobs for $225 million

Monster Worldwide has acquired HotJobs from Yahoo for $225 million. Monster and Yahoo have also entered into a three year deal under which Monster will provide career and job content on the Yahoo homepage in US and Canada.

“HotJobs with its significant customer base plus the traffic agreement are an ideal complement to Monster’s innovative recruitment solutions and global reach,” Sal Iannuzzi, chairman, chief executive officer and president, Monster Worldwide, has said.

“Bringing together Monster and HotJobs creates even greater access and opportunities for both recruiters and job seekers,” Hilary Schneider, EVP, Yahoo, has said. “Yahoo remains focused on its core businesses and delivering exceptional experiences to users, partners and advertisers.”

Indian market is tough for every mnc , but now its around 9 years for monster in india and they are giving a strong competion to naukri, heading neck to neck, times is no where near of both. All updated resume of IT sector and Middle/Senior level management of any industry you will find in monster.
I am a client of both so I now this.
After sales services of monsterindia is better than any other.

I agree . They should look at ways to strengthen India market since US they seem to do ok . I have heard of they are closing down their field sales operations and plan to operate only through telesales . How funny.

It is important for monster to remain strong in US Eurpoe from where their bread and butter comes. Since, in india they have lost ground to local strong players like naukri / timesjobs.

They are fast winding up india operations by reducing team size upto 70%. In US careerbuilder is about to beat them too.
