Internet overtakes newspapers as main source of news in US
26 December, 2008
Internet has surpassed all other media except television as a main source for national and international news, according to a survey conducted by Pew Research Centre for the People & the Press. The survey was conducted in US between 3rd and 7th December 2008 among 1,489 adults.
The survey found that 40 per cent of the respondents rely on internet for news while 35 per cent said they get their news from newspapers. Television continues to be cited most frequently as a main source for national and international news, at 70 per cent.
For young people, however, internet rivals television as a main source of national and international news. Nearly six-in-ten Americans younger than 30 (59 per cent) said they get most of their national and international news online; an identical percentage cited television.

One can’t keep on doing the same stuff over and over again across all kinds of brands. Every brand has a unique feature and this needs to be attributed through innovative marketing initiatives. Unless the people working in this medium can innovate, spends will not grow on internet. "
Someday this will happen in India too!
